Privacy Policy
Last updated July 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Elevora Technologies (“Elevora,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with Mailcap (the “Service”). Mailcap captures email and messages from your development and staging environments so your team can inspect them.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and hashed password. We use Better Auth for authentication; we never store passwords in plain text.
- Captured Content — the email and message data your applications send to Mailcap for inspection, including sender and recipient addresses, subjects, bodies, headers, and attachments. This is test data you choose to send us.
- Usage and technical data — basic operational data such as request timestamps, API-key identifiers, and error diagnostics needed to run and secure the Service.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account;
- enforce plan limits and prevent abuse;
- send account-lifecycle email (such as password resets) — we do not send marketing email;
- diagnose problems and improve reliability.
Captured Content is your responsibility
Captured Content may contain personal data about your users or third parties. You control what you send to Mailcap and are the controller of that data; we process it on your behalf solely to provide the Service. Because Mailcap is a testing tool, we recommend you avoid sending real production data or sensitive personal data where practical.
Retention and deletion
Captured Content is deleted automatically after your plan’s retention period (pinned items may be kept longer). You can clear an environment’s inbox or delete a project or your account at any time, which removes the associated Captured Content, subject to any legal obligation to retain it. Backups are cycled on a rolling basis.
Sharing and sub-processors
We do not sell your data. We share information only with service providers that help us run Mailcap — for example, our cloud hosting and database provider, and our email-delivery provider for account emails — under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing services to us. We may disclose information if required by law.
Security
We protect data in transit with HTTPS, store passwords hashed, encrypt API keys at rest, and rate-limit our public endpoints. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to a testing tool of this kind.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (edit your account, delete projects, delete your account) or by contacting us at hello@elevora.tech.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time and will take reasonable steps to notify you of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
